…from the streets, to the streets… 

Straight Street Ministries (SSM) is the Discipleship arm of Matthew’s Table where we teach men and women how to deepen their faith through the study of God’s Word and then to share their faith by fostering relationships with those who need to know Christ by guiding discussion groups and developing bible studies. 

The ministry name comes from Acts chapter 9 when Saul / Paul was directed to go to the house of Judas on Straight Street in Damascus where the scales fell from his eyes and he was told what the Lord had called him to do. 

Initially centered around Re-entry Ministries; helping those recently graduated from recovery programs to reintroduce themselves into the community, SSM began with a single “discipleship house” where the residents are engaged four days a week with being immersed in the Word.  Activities include Sunday and Wednesday church services along with studies lead by members of our Men’s Ministry and our Deacons on Monday and Thursday.
